Background

D.R. H.O.P.E.

Landscape

The non-profit organization allows participants to experience the culture and life in a developing country. Participants build a house alongside Dominican volunteers within the designated community and interact with the local children. They also have the opportunity to bring donations of clothing, medical and hygiene items, and school supplies and interact with local children. The Dominican volunteers are receiving or hope to receive a house in the future. Participants are able to make a tangible and intangible difference, bringing these experiences home with them to continue making a difference.

To date, D.R. H.O.P.E. has built 106 houses and repaired 13 houses for deserving families within the mountain communities in the Dominican Republic. Over 1,200 participants have volunteered to help D.R. H.O.P.E. achieve their goal of building thriving, sustainable communities, including high-school, university and adult groups.
